Lamborghini issues recall order for versions of Aventador LP 700-4

Italian sports car maker Lamborghini issues a recall order to some versions of the Aventador LP 700-4 due to faulty headlamps. The recall will cover Lamborghini Aventadors that were built between 15 July 2011 and 20 April 2012.

Only 144 units are being recalled and this is due to the undeniable exclusivity and price tag of the Aventador. According to the carmaker, the headlamps of the affected sports car fail to conform with some requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards particularly its provisions on reflective devices and lamps.

Lamborghini traces the problem to the alignment of the headlamps. The incorrect alignment of the headlights results to poor visibility of the driver and blinding the drivers of oncoming vehicles. Of course, both problems may lead to worse road mishaps such as a crash.

Notices will be sent to owners of the affected Aventador units. The owners will have to visit the nearest dealer that will enable proper alignment of the headlamps for free.
